The end of summer signifies many things – the weather gets colder, kids go back to school, and routines change. Summer play time is over and the reality of facing our goals before the year is over starts to set in. Don’t worry if you’re feeling overwhelmed. We’ve got 5 tips to help you get re-engaged with your goals and your routines. Need some workout inspiration to help you get started, We’ve got you covered there too. We have several videos below to help you get started, plus be sure to check out our YouTube page for lots of inspiration.

1. Re-evaluate your goals.

If you’re struggling to meet your 2018 fitness goals consider a re-evaluation to maximize what you can achieve in the remainder of the year. Keep things simple. You’re far more likely to stick to a new routine if it’s easy to follow. Start small and build on your goals.

2. Prep in advance.

This is key to achieving any goal, especially if you’re tackling a lifestyle change. If you can prep in advance to make your new routine easier, you’re going to be more successful and more efficient with your time. Packing your gym clothes the night before is an easy way to make sure you’re staying on track. It only takes 5 minutes and when that early alarm goes off, you’ll be ready. Keeping a set of gym clothes in your car is another great way to make sure you’re always prepared to tackle your next workout.

3. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

We all need help sometimes. If you find that you’re not staying committed to your home workout or your healthy meals, ask for help! Hiring a trainer is a great way to ensure you stay on track. A personal trainer is the ultimate form of accountability. Not only is it a financial commitment, it allows you to have a workout on your calendar that you don’t have to plan, making it a simple way to get your workout in.

4. Try something new.

If you’ve become un-engaged with your healthy choices due to boredom, we get it. Eating the same healthy meals or doing the same workout routine can become monotonous. So why not try something new? Challenge yourself to try a new workout class at your gym or venture out to a boot camp. If you’re feeling uninspired in the kitchen – try out a meal delivery service. Even two weeks of new meals can be the spark you need to become inspired.

5. Give Yourself a Break!

You’re only human. If you get off track, don’t abandon your hard work – or beat yourself up about it. Life happens. You won’t always have time to meal prep or make that one workout. It takes at least 90 days to tackle a new habit so give yourself some time! Avoid having an “all-or-nothing” mentality. Set small, achievable goals and you will have success.
