Heading into the end of the first quarter of the year, it is time to be sure we are re-addressing and re-assessing our goals and the path to achieve them. My fitness goal for 2018 is to complete the Spartan Race TriFecta Challenge by Power Systems. Along with this as my personal goal, I have also decided to create some business and inspirational goals as well. I formed a Spartan Race team at my fitness center, Lock Box LA and we are training with the new OCR Bootcamp class I developed to prepare for every obstacle in the Spartan Races.
The TriFecta Challenge that Power Systems has inspired me to do has truly pushed me on all levels. I am personally going to be racing and competing for my own goals. I have decided to do a minimum of three races this year. The Sprint, The Super and The Beast. Completing these three races within the 2018 calendar year qualifies me as completing the TriFecta Challenge. Outside of these minimum requirements I will also be taking on some additional races to continue to challenge myself, to have fun on different courses and to help lead and motivate my Lock Box Spartan Team to do as many races as possible this year.
From a business perspective and as a fitness center owner, I have also created my Spartan Race Team at Lock Box LA to inspire others to take on this challenge. I have chosen Lock Box Coaches as leaders to take on the role of Team Captainsfor different races. These coaches are now inspiring our members and their clients to take on new feats they never thought possible by completing a race side-by-side with their favorite coaches. The commitment to the race has motivated many of our members to take their training to the next level.
I created the OCR Bootcamp Class with the idea of not only inspiring others to take on new challenges, but to also have new, fun experiences through fitness. This class utilizes specialized equipment that Power Systems has developed to mimic the same style obstacles that participants will face in their races. Utilizing a combination of these tools and a class format that optimizes conditioning, this is the ideal way to have fun in a class environment, take on new challenges, and get conditioned for any Obstacle Course Race. Our members are using this class to train for their TriFecta Challenge goals every week.
The introduction of the TriFecta Challenge and the new OCR Bootcamp class have also inspired some members in new ways they never imagined possible. Although not everyone wants to do all three of the TriFecta Races, we have had a lot of first time racers decide to commit to their first Spartan Sprint ever. This is why I love my job as a fitness professional. To inspire people to take on challenges they never thought possible is the best feeling in the world.
Committing to new goals can happen in many different ways. There is no perfect path and that path can also change throughout the journey. The most important thing when re-assessing and re-committing to your goals is to make sure that you have a community to support you and you have fun! Sometimes its not actually the end goal, but the journey to get there that means the most in the end. No matter what challenge anyone is facing, we as a community have produced something bigger than a goal to complete a race, we have created motivation to lead healthier lifestyles throughout the entire year.
